New Designer Platform

Is anyone else disappointed with being forced to the new pricing plan for Weebly white label platform? I have been with this company since 2014 and now we're forced to make changes that will affect our clients. The only changes I can see made was the pricing. Now, we're being charged an annual fee of $300; which is not a fully white-label experience. When accessing the app center clients are still able to view the Weebly platform when attempting to migrate the app into their sites.  Why is this?

The "Web Pro" pricing is another disapointment for the Web Designer platform.  I had given up hope that they would ever follow through on updating it and moved some of my client sites to Wordpress and elsewhere.  Seeing the announcement 5 years after the first hints was a pleasent suprise.  However, to keep the existing price structure after a year I will have to start paying $300/yr?  No thank you.  The last sites remaining on the WWD will be moved elsewhere, too.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand change can be difficult to deal with, especially when it involves a price change. Here is a full list of the new changes if anyone is interested:

  • App Center Access: add more design functionality and widgets to enhance client sites

  • Performance Plan: utilize advanced Ecommerce features including product reviews, product badges, and gift cards

  • Improved User Interface: intuitive dashboard for you to effectively manage your sites. With the new UI, you can view the development status of websites, see when they were last updated, easily change site plans,

  • Site Templates: Build out templates as a pre-built starting point for your websites. This helps you scale your designer business and design beautiful sites more quickly.

  • Unlimited Client Accounts: on Designer Platform you were limited to one client login per site. With this new Weebly for Web Designers update, you can add as many clients as you want per site and control their permission levels.

  • Site Dashboard: gives a high level overview of your client’s website success. Your clients can view their insights and analytics into their site’s performance. They also have the ability to view their e-commerce store sales if they have a store setup through their Weebly site. Additional functionality includes managing blog comments and exporting contact form entries.

If your client's website has an accompanying mobile app built from the weebly app store, will the client be able to log in and see their app performance in a similiar way to how they view their site performance?  And will I be able to to do same across all my client's apps?

I don't believe this is possible, but I think it would also depend on the third party app settings. Is there a particular app you are referring to?

Actally I was beginning to like it! Not the price increase, the new platform..... but a SERIOUS retrograded function that the chat support person doesn't even see why its a problem. Its not a problem - its a MISTAKE IN DESIGN AND NEEDS RECTIFYING QUICKLY, in stead of the lame " I'll pass your concerns on!!!??!

On the old platform - allocating bloggers was simple.........

The new platform YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE BLOGGER FULL ACCESS TO EVERY PAGE............CAN THE IMAGINE THE CHAOS THAT COULD BE CAUSED BE A DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE!!

I can appreciate how that could potentially be a problem, since it isn't possible to limit access to specific pages (although outside of that there is more granularity than there was with the old platform). I've let the WWD team know about your feedback, @Irish.

Has there been any progress on this ?

It is real problem, I just want to give my client access to write their own blogs

If they break any of the other pages inadvertly the responsibility will fall back on me to fix it I am sure.

I want to give them some power to write and publish blogs in their own time ... but not risk the integrity of the entire website.

Give this some priority please.

I'm not sure exactly where this is right now in terms of a timeline, although I know that our WWD team is keenly aware that this is a feature designers want.

Is this still the case or have there been updates?
