Mobile Viewing

Hello,

We have been using Weebly for a considerable amount of time now for our website - curiousguys.co.uk

We have been made aware that although our website looks great on a desktop, the website struggles significantly on a mobile device with the following issues
 - Page contents being 'thrown around'
 - Poor overall formatting
 - Header image is not displaying correctly (or in some cases, at all, on a mobile device)

We have looked into various solutions for this but cannot seem to find an appropriate solution

By looking at the website, can anybody offer any advice?

Thanks!

@SusieO

In my view     themes  are sort of the same     just with different pre selected fonts  and the way the menu /nav bar is displayed  and margins /borders/page widths   simple stuff

.   Ive customized my theme   so i get it the way i want.

If i switch theme   it takes about 2 hours to  transfer all my tweaks over

Suggestion     make a TEST SITE   using the same theme   as u r currently using.     Delete all the pre set pages   and add a single new page   , add some text and images   and  then try out different themes to get the desired look.   Then switch the main theme

Header images dt normally transfer   so u'll have to re add those.

Any tweaks to the html will of c be  lost

Hi @SusieO

It looks like u r using an old theme    (the option to click between mobile and web view at the bottom of the home page)

Newer themes r automatically responsive

Thank you for your response!

We will take this into consideration and see if a theme change will work for us.

Ideally, we want to keep the same design style for the website. Would a total theme change be possible while retaining our current design?

@whitemonkey

Thank you ever so much for your response.

We will look to design a test website, and begin to switch over to an up to date theme. Hopefully, this should resolve the mobile formatting issue.

Thank you!

all this would have been nice to know tho before building a site and find out you have to do it all again because of OLD THEMES. they should either remove them or update the ones that are old.   Weebly was touted as EASY and SIMPLE.... anyone can do it!   NOT SO MUCH!

Hi Susie!  I saw that you helped someone with a mobile viewing issue on weebly and I want your help on something, please.  My website does not pull up on IOS phones?  Is there something I can do to change that?  It wasn't for a while, then it was working fine for weeks but then I updated it and I can no longer see it.  It works fine on PCs, Macbooks and Android phones just not iPhones.  Anything I can do?  Is it  a time out issue?

Hi @DelHarrison I am on an iPhone and can load your site without an issue. I did notice, though, that the site is not secure. Enabling the SSL will most likely solve any display issues you are reporting. You can enable the SSL by clicking on the Settings tab and scrolling about midway down. Please make a note if you see a popup to update the IP address your domain is pointing to. If you see a prompt, it can take up to 24-48 hours after updating the dns for the SSL to work. If you do not see a prompt it should show as secure almost immediately.

Thank you so much!  It worked. I updated the SSL settings on the site where I bought the domain and can see it on my cell.  Yay!
