Issues arranging items in categories

Does anybody have issues re-arranging items in each category? I know its is a hassle of dragging and dropping, but it's the only way to arrange your items as you want them to show in each category, in my case right now I want summer items shows first in list and spring or sale shows last in each category, this was working totally fine for some time, but recently I don't know what is going on, this is not working! I drag my items to the top and when I drop them, they come back to same place were they were originally on the bottom, it is not holding it, I tried several times in different days and still same issues, please sombeody help.

Thanks for posting, @GG_Store. I checked with our engineering team and there is a bug open with them to resolve this. Hopefully this is resolved soon! Thanks for your patience.

Hi -

Is there a way of re-arranging items within categories using an iPad? One day when I was working on my website, I got to a screen that showed all the items in a category (which doesn't happen when you go to "edit category" - you just see a list of some of the items, but not all)? In some categories, I have a mixture of items and I'd like to group them together so that one item type isn't scattered amongst another.

Thank you!

sarah

Hi again @Sarahpotter.

The list of items when you edit a category in Items > Categories should be scrollable so you can drag items to a different order. I haven't tried doing it with an iPad (since my iPad mini is so old... Smiley Sad ), but it does work on a desktop or laptop computer.

Hi Adam -

Yes, you're right, it is scrollable, which I hadn't realized. However, when you try to drag and drop, all you can do is scroll; I'm not able to select an item (other than to delete it) and move it around.

Thank you for responding so quickly!

Ok, thanks for trying that. It's possible within the site editor to drag them, although you'll need to add a Shop All page first before you can edit individual category pages (you don't need to add the Shop All page to the navigation, though). If you add a page and use the regular page option, you should see Shop All there. Once the page has been added then you should be able to see individual category pages within the list of pages.

Any update on this? I'm currently developing a website and am experienceing the same issue of not being able to re-arrange the order of the categories as described above.

How are you editing the order of items for your categories, @atbodamer? If you go to Items > Categories and edit your category, you should be able to click and drag your items there.

Adam,

thanks for the qucik reply. I was rearranging the categories editing the website under "Shop All." The categories could be moved with the mouse, but would not stick, instead reverting to their original position.

Doing as you advised, editing from items> categories, works.

thanks again.
