Is there a way to have "private" apps?

I've been working with Weebly for a while now. I have found out that I would like to write reusable custom elements for our website and I've noticed that "apps" seem to provide this functionality. However, it seems that apps need to go through an approval process and afterwards will be filling the marketplace where anyone can download them. I feel that the components I would like to create are not generic enough to make sense to be posted on the marketplace. So I'm wondering is there a way to make "apps" for private use only on our website.

I've also looked into the embedded code element but using it forces everything inside it also to be written in HTML. I would like to make components that can still be configured and filled with other Weebly elements without writing HTML so that our non-technical people can easily modify their contents.

I don't believe there's a way to make an app private within the App Center right now. An app is technically private during development, though it can only be tested on your development site and not any other sites within the same account.

I too would like to use private Apps as a way of creating re-usable widgets that my non-technical web designer can use to add specific functionality to a web page. Has the status on this changed? Is there a feature request for this functionality? Apart from pricing my App at an outrageous price in the App store is there any other way to prevent other users from downloading the App?
