How to display full size images
Hello,
I have a huge problem because weebly does not have functionality for displaying the images in full screen mode.
I post a lot of images but they look small and my readers need to see details on the posted images.
Now I have to download all the images on my google drive and then link them to each picture uploaded on my site.
That takes a lot of time and becomes a deal breaker for me. I just can't lose time for that anymore!!!!
Do you have any option where I need to upload a picture once to weebly and user will be able to click it to expand it to the full screen?

Thank you!

Hi Doc2018,
I'm a fellow Weebly User. One way around this is to do a bulk upload of your full-size images in your file manager.
To do this in the Weebly Editor go to Theme (in the top menu), then along the left-hand side of the editor you'll see a button at the bottom that says Edit HTML/CSS. Click that, then in the "Assets" folder click the + sign and select New Folder. Name your new folder, then click the gear icon next to it and click "Upload Files" You can then upload a single photo or do a bulk-upload of any and all images.
These images will all be available in full-resolution. Next, go back to the site builder, add smaller versions of the images to your page and link the images to the full size files, having the link open a new window with the image file.
The URL will be based on the folder you created and the file name. So for example your link might point to:
https://www.yourdomain.com/files/theme/foldername/image-file-name.jpg
Obviously you'll update https or http depending upon your site protocol.
In this way you can organize all of your image files in different folders too. Say /files/theme/images/file-name.jpg, /files/theme/headshots/file-name.jpg, etc.
If you have a ton of images you're uploading, I recommend keeping a database of the image file names and URLs in Google Sheets or something, so you can quickly find and add the appropriate link anywhere on the site.
Of course you can also embed the photos in the page with a custom html block in this way, but your site will load faster by uploading smaller versions of each image using the "Image" widget in the editor.
Hopefully this helps you. Good luck!

Thanks for this information. I had the same problem of displaying photos in full screen, and this seems to work perfectly.

Thank you for your details, but I need a little more help, if it is possible because I have 404 error.
Follow
1)Theme
2)Edit html/CSS
3)ASSETS
4)+
5)New Folder = test
6)upload photo, color.jpg
Now I go back to build and I add a photo, I choose link to a URL
http://www.mydomain.com/files/theme/test/color.jpg
Then I publish my site.
Refresh the browser.
When I click on photo open a new window with 404.
where is my fault? Thank you in advance.

Could it be because you have "http" while it should be "https" in your link? I have the 404 error when it cannot find the file.

Hi JoeHScholar,
Thank you for posting an informatibve reply. HOWEVER, I am having two problems (never did any HTML coding, and I am a newbie to Weebly as well):
(1) You mentioned "Name your new folder, then click the gear icon next to it and click "Upload Files"". But, the "gear icon" drop-down menu on my weebly account only gives two options - - Rename or Delete ! It doesn't let me upload any files.
So, I had to go to the + sign next to ASSETS to create a Folder and upload a file.
(2) You also mentioned " Next, go back to the site builder, add smaller versions of the images to your page and link the images to the full size files, having the link open a new window with the image file."
BUT, on the Product page, I do not see anyway (or instructions) where a product image (filling a box 5 3/4" x 4 1/4" in size) can be linked to the full-screen image uploaded in Step 1 above.
May be I am missing something.
Thanks,
--Rama
