How to custom edit footer?

Hello! I'm trying to delete a "target=_blank" attribute in my footer, but I can't figure out how to access that code in the Code Editor. Is this possible to do? And if so, where do I find that code? (I can find the code when I look at source code in a browser, but I can't figure out where I'd find it in the Code Editor).  Thank you!

Thank you, NJRFTF.  I tried the search tool, but no results came up for the term I searched. I searched a specific and unique word that's in the body of my footer, hoping to navigate myself to the right place. I'm thinking I don't even have the right file open; that is, I'm searching the wrong files. Do you know the name Weebly would have assigned to the file that contains the content of the footer? It seems like it should be obvious, but I can't figure out where I should be looking (I apologize; I probably only know enough about coding to be a little dangerous!). Thank you!

I believe if you have any paid hosting plan the footer area behaves just like other area. with a free plan the area is hardwired and unchageable

Hi  NJRFTF- It's http://www.servicespeakenglish.com.

I'd like the mail icon in the footer to go to our Contact Us page rather than an email address, as it's designed to do. However, Weebly forces the result into a new window, so I want to delete "target=_blank."

Thanks!

Thank you, @NJRFTF and @bobafett, for your help. I never did find where I could edit the code of the footer in Weebly, but I found a workaround. I deleted the content of my footer, added an Embed Code box, cut and paste the code I found in View Source in my browser for the footer I had created, deleted the target attribute, and it worked! I appreciate your responses.

@jparker:  I am glad you found a work around.  When I suggested editable footer region, I was trying to suggest that you could have inserted those icons as images (not use weebly icons) and link them anyway you like.  I think that would have beed easier!

I am having the same problem. I added a bootstrap footer using embed code but the blank space at the bottom won't go away. Tried a fixed footer but there's still this weird blank space. Could you please suggest me what to do as weebly experts won't reply to my posts. I don't know why tho.
