Error Posting to Facebook

So I make a post to my Weebly blog and when I try to use the Facebook post feature, I've been getting this for the past day:

"We encountered an unexpected error when trying to share to Facebook. Turn sharing back on to reauthorize your account."

I tested the Twitter share feature and it's fine. I have no clue what to do.

I'm having the same problem. I'm going through all the same steps I used to, but my blog will not post on Facebook.

Are you trying to post the link directly on your Facebook page?

I have this issue too. Twitter is fine but I'm not able to connect to Facebook. When I publish a blog post & share on Facebook, I just get the message - 

Sorry, something went wrong.

We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.

Hi Adam,
Unfortunately the problem is still there.
I've tried clearing cache & cookies, and ensuring I was properly logged out of Facebook before posting. But when I publish then select Share on Facebook, I'm log in OK (after the connect process fails), but it just returns the error message as before. Facebook's just not authorizing Weebly to connect to it.
I've tried this with dummy blog posts on my paid & unpaid sites, none of which have worked. Ad blocker is removed, though the problem occurs with different browsers - Vivaldi, Chrome & Opera - anyway.
Something I should mention is that this is a new Facebook account, so I can delete it & start again unless you've other fix suggestions before I do this?

You're using Facebook for login, right? Is it the same account as you're trying to share to?

No, I'm not using Facebook for login. I log into Weebly using my username / password combo. And before trying to post a blog entry to Facebook from Weebly I'm fully logged out of Facebook (cache & cookies cleared), then when I'm asked to log in to Facebook to complete the process, I use my Facebook username / password combo, and I immediately get the error.

Interestingly, Facebook does actually log me in at this point, as I can then view my Facebook page after getting the error message. I get the error just after I enter my credentials to log in to Facebook. The problem doesn't seem to be with my Facebook login, but with whatever autentication takes place between Weebly & Facebook at the time Weebly attempts to post the blog entry.

Hi @kacit,

Try to login to your facebook and remove app permissions for weebly from your facebook. I believe this guide should help. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-revoke-facebook-app-permissions/

Once you do that, try to post to facebook again though your weebly account, it should ask you to re-authenticate your account. If you still get that error let me know.

Hi, 

My Facebook account is a new one with no apps authorized. Weebly has never gotten as far with being authorized, as it's failed to connect each time, so there's no Weebly permissions to revoke. This was one of the first things I looked at.

'Apps, websites & Games' are 'Turned On'

This is the only Facebook account that you have right? Do you have another one that you could log into and test sharing to?
