Editor not previewing correctly after editing CSS
I had a problem this evening on a Weebly site.
I went to make a CSS change (Theme -> Edit HTML/CSS). As soon as I hit a <return> to open up a new line in the CSS file, my background color dropped out, and my button colors disappeared.
However, when I publish the site, the background and buttons look fine. Whenever I return to the editor, the colors are gone again.
I am using an OLD theme (from the bottom half of the theme selection screen) and I am able to replicate the issue by simply putting a new line into the CSS file (so I know it's not buggy CSS... I haven't entered any yet a <return>!). Interestingly, when I do enter any CSS into the SEO header box, there are no problems. It's only happening as soon as I touch the CSS file.
Unfortunately, removing the extra line from the CSS file does not solve the issue. Also, if I try to add new buttons, the button editor will not show colors either. All buttons are showing up and previewing properly in the ASSETS section of the HTML/CSS editor.
It's hard to edit the site when the background is gone and the button colors are gone. I ended up having to re-apply the theme from the beginning. Luckily the site visitors are not seeing the issue.
Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it. For now, I'll try to do as much SEO/Header styles as I can, but there are some things that I'd prefer to do in the mainstyle.css file.

Hi.
This seems to be a similar issue to what we've seen in our custom themes...
Just to link this to another thread - https://community.weebly.com/t5/Themes/Purchased-Theme-suddenly-broken-by-Weebly-Update-or-Change/m-...
@Adam - Can you take a moment to bump this up to the dev team and give us a status update.

Thanks, Adam.
Yes, it does seem that these issues might be related.
When CSS is edited on a standard theme, the system automatically converts that to a custom theme, which may be where the problem lies. Even though I hadn't named or saved my custom theme at the time the content in the editor disappeared, I am suspecting that behind the scenes, Weebly immediately starts working with it as a custom theme which is where the code breaks.
The only way to remedy this that I have found is to re-apply the standard theme.
I can work with it as is, but the person I am building the site for would likely have trouble editing the site with missing background colors and button colors.
Below is a screengrab of errors I see when I Inspect Element while using the editor. As you can see, the editor is not loading the images for backgrounds and buttons, even though they are in my ASSET list, and even though they are displaying on live site.
Hopefully the engineers can find something soon.
