Editor Data Entry Problem!

There seems to be a problem with the Weebly Editor when we add data to an Embed Code element or change the content of an Embed Code element. I reported this problem to Weebly Support, but I was told that this is how it is supposed to work.  I am a software designer myself, and I know that properly designed software is not supposed to work like that.  I'd like to know if others have experienced this problem and what they think of it.  Here is a description of the problem:

In the Weebly Editor, after I add an Embed Code element to my page, I proceed with entering the data to it. When I am done entering the data, the editor does not show what I have entered. To see the added data, I have to leave the page and then get back into it again.

The same thing happens when I change the content of an Embed Code element. After I make the changes, the editor shows the Embed Code empty! To see that changes I made, I have to get out of the page and then get back into it.

This problem is happening 90% of the time when I work with Embed Code elements. Sometimes (quite rarely) it does not happen which makes me think it is a design problem, if not a bug.

I can still work (as I said, all I need to do is get out of the page and get back in, to see the new data), but it's a pain when you have a lot of changes to make.

Have others experienced this problem?  What do you make of it?  Why is it not getting fixed?  Any explanations would be very much appreciated.

Hey @MauSav!  This is a great question- what type of content are you adding to the embed code element?  Does it normally include links to external resources?

The data I enter is usually <iframe> type html code that includes links to external resoucres.

I find that once I enter the data, I don't see correctly the result unless I exit the page and reenter it.

This is caused by how contents within Embed Code elements are rendered on a page in the editor.  Since it's an iframe trying to load external resources, those requests are only done when the page itself is fully loaded and not when the contents of the iframe are saved.

Your explanation makes sense, but the behavior is not consistent: sometimes it works and you see write away the code you entered.

If it doesn't need to call any external resources it will likely show it as soon as you click outside the element. For example, if you added an H1 tag with some text - that would likely show without needing to navigate away.
