Defining font style and color in embedded code

I'm trying to create a button which will use mailto: syntax. The button background is dark blue, created using the Color Block app. My code reads:

<a href="mailtoSmiley Tongueerson@person.com?subject=Accommodation%20enquiry%20via%20Local%20Information%20Centre
"><p style="color:white; font-size: x-large">Email owner</p></a>

The mailto: functionality works fine and produces an empty email with the Subject line filled in. But the button text, which looks large and white in the Weebly editor, just comes out grey (so nearly invisible against the dark blue) and tiny when published. Am I getting the style attributes wrong?

I don't know why that emoji appeared; ignore it!

Square

The emoji came from : P (without the space) I'm not super familiar with custom code, but if you post a link to the page with the button another user may be able to help you out.
