Cannot upload photos to products, and images get switched

OK, two big problems happening on my site.

  1. Create a new product, try to upload a photo, dialog says the photo was uploaded, no photo shows up in the Product Images box.  When I save the product, the image DOES appear in the product list, but then when I edit the product again, no images are present, and if I look at the product in the product list again, there are no images.  This is maddening.
  2. When I change ANYTHING on an existing product (even the quantity in stock) and save it, the main image gets bumped to become the last image, and I then need to re-open the product and drag the main image back to the top again.

This has been happening for about 2 weeks, and I've tried every brower you can think of.  No difference.

Help please!  This is preventing sales.

Some antivirus programs don't like the image uploader because of how it functions; you can definitely report that as a false positive. I'm sure that's what is causing the trouble for you, too.

Thanks! I know that you said you've tried different browsers. Is there any way you could also try a different computer and/or different internet connection?

Sorry for the frustration this is causing! Hopefully, we can get it worked out soon.

Thanks,
Erin

Hi, have done all of this-- different OS's, different internet connections (home/work), different computers.  It's 100% a problem with the Store code.  It's still happening, and is really hampering my business.  Help please!

Hi, one more wrinkle here.  I just noticed that my antivirus program (Bitdefender) has flagged Weebly's upload page as being infected with malware.  While this seems pretty unlikely, before replying with "that's an issue with your A/V program," it would be good to check with Weebly's security department.  Bitdefender has never done this before for a webpage, and their ID files are based on actual research and triage done in the field, so if there's any chance this is an actual problem on your end, it would be good to know.

I took a screenshot of the messgae, but of course I can't upload it here because the upload.php page is still blocked.  Here's a link to where I have posted it online: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AgcctLgYvJZfhuYSpRmqByLENOZneQ

What is the name of the site @queenieJA and one of the products not allowing you to upload? I can test it out from my end. Thanks!

Hi Bernadette,

my site is julieannenicholson.com.

I also have another query:

am I correct in thinking that as a Pro site customer, I am not able to apply shipping to my product page?

I am still trying to upload my first product.

Thanks, Julie

Hi Julie. That is correct. If you are using the Pro service you will need to setup an alternate way of collecting shipping. Usually people will just include shipping into the cost of their product. Smiley Happy

I was able to upload a test product with an image. Can you let me know if you see it from your store page? Can you also try creating a new product and let me know what error you see when you try to upload? Thanks so much!

Hi @JoaoOliveira There is a current issue with uploading images to the site editor. Our engineers are working on a fix, but in the meantime you can disable your Facebook or Google+ login connections to prevent the error. Log into the dashboard, click on your name, then Account. Click on Manage on the left side of the screen then disconnect either or both of the services. It would also be a good idea to contact support so they can escalate your support ticket. Thanks and very sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi @claystudio The previous issue posted to this thread was resolved months ago. Can you let me know one of the products you are trying to upload an image to so I can check if there are any known issues at the moment? Can you also please verify if this is a new issue and when you first noticed that it happened? Thanks so much!

I don't have a problem uploading images, but they constantly switch the main image, frequently to an image I would NEVER use as a main image. How can I get this to stop?

my site is www.amusedowl.com

Hi @amusedowl Can you let us know a specific item and the description of the first image that shows? Thanks!

"Cutie Pie Butterfly Camp Chair". The first picture is a girl carrying the chair in it's carry bag. I have changed it to just the chair several times. Of course this is just one example.

I'm very sorry for the delayed response! I tested changing the image to the one of the girl standing with the chair. When I did this, I was immediately prompted to save and also received a notification that the image would also change on Square's end. After I saved the change, I verified that it updated on your live site. I went back to the product to choose the image of just the chair, but this time was not prompted to save.. I'm not quite sure why that is, but I'm assuming it's the reason you are having trouble getting the right image to stick. As of now, the correct image is showing, but I'll check back in on the site tomorrow to see if it reverted. Please feel free to @ me if you don't hear from me by the afternoon. Thanks for your patience. Smiley Happy
