Blog Sidebar and Mobile Issues

When the Sidebar of our blog is turned on, every blog post viewed on a mobile device has a super small width, making it almost impossible to read.  To fix that issue, we turned the sidebar off. But when the sidebar is turned off, there is no way to search the blog or navigate to different categories.  What am I missing here? www.phillyyoungplaywrights.org/blog

Hi @PYPlaywright It looks like you are using a custom theme. Was the theme customized to try to correct the issue?

Hi @Bernadette - I had modified the HTML slightly to include the blog sidebar, which was missing from the theme we chose for some reason.  Otherwise it is one of your standard themes.  I can go back to the standard- but I need the blog sidebar to allow users to search the Blog by Category- otherwise the blog is useless.

Hi @PYPlaywright I think I may have misunderstood you. Smiley Happy Just to clarify, you did not have a sidebar so you edited the css/html to include one? The only theme that does not include a blog sidebar is called Purplehaze. Unfortunately, it does look like this is the theme you choose to use. Any of the other themes should include the side bar on the right hand side. You can preview the themes and navigate to your blog page to check them out. Click Theme>Change Theme

I had the same idea as you and the same problem.  @PYPlaywright have you find an option to let it work (without changing the theme)?

On the desktop it's looking good, but on a mobile device is the blog to small and the sidebar is huge at yhe right side of the screen (instead of undernead the blog).

I have a similar issue with the sidebar. I have sidebar enabled, but the width of my blog entry is narrowed. Graphics is one main thing I'm showing in my blog, so I'd like to have the main blog column wider so that the graphics gives more impact. I can do so by disabling the sidebar, but then there's no way to nagivate thru the blog (except the 'previous' and 'forward' links). It'd be great if we can have access to the nagivation via a button or link, or even an auto-hiding mechanism, instead of always having the sidebar showing.

Which site are you seeing that with, @weeblyuser121? If this is on mobile, it sounds like you're using an older theme with the mobile site disabled.

Sorry, but I was actually talking about the desktop version of my website. I just checked: The mobile version is great with the sidebar underneath the blog content and blog content taking the whole width. Is there anyway we can have the blog content taking the whole width but still have a good way to navigate the blog for the desktop version?

It might be possible to customize your theme so the the sidebar on desktop is on top or the bottom. That would be a bit more of an extensive customization, though, so I wouldn't attempt that unless you're familiar with HTML and CSS.
