Blog Navigation Issues

Hi all,

To begin with, I am a novice at programming and am largely self-taught, so I apologize for the clunky question.

I'm creating a webcomic that is going to run in blog format, and I'm having trouble with Weebly's blog post navigation options.  All the navigation options go to an address with the extension "/previous/#/" and travels to the post that is the equivalent distance from the most recent post.  While this works fine for basic use, I need a reliable way to create links to specific posts so readers can navigate to the beginning of the story or to specific chapters.  When I try to do this, however, the navigation buttons disappear, and all my attempts to integrate the navigation code to the individual posts themselves hasn't worked.  The navigation links just link back to the post I tried to leave.

Does anyone know of a good way to make my navigation work better?  I was thinking of trying to change the way the blog navigates by treating the first post as "1" and having the subsequent pages be "/next/#/" instead of "/previous/#/", but I don't have the first idea how to do that.  If need be, I can remove the built-in navigation controls and just create custom navigation buttons for each post, but that seems like a major hassle.

Thanks for the help!

Hello BWHComics! Are you looking to keep your webcomic in a blog form? Can you tell us a bit more about how you'd like it indexed or displayed? That may help with alternatives.

Hi Queso,

I set it up using the blog because it allowed me to schedule posts pretty conveniently.  It wasn't until recently that I realized you pretty much have to start on the most recent page and work backward to keep the default navigation functions active.  I would post a link to the blog page, but I may be changing it very soon.

I think I found a working solution for now.  I will be adding navigation buttons to the posts themselves and will have my URL link to a homepage rather than the blog itself.  That way, I can still use the blog page to schedule uploads, and navigation will still be consistent.  Once I am in a position to link the page, I will.

Thanks for replying!
