Audio player being replaced by "Download File"?

I've uploaded several audio recordings to my site. Some show up just as they should, but others are showing up as "Download File" instead of the player.

How can I fix this?

Which audio files were added more recently to your site, @noisemaker_ind? Meaning, are those that are saying "download file" only older or newer?

All were added in the span of about an hour, and it seems the "download file" is there for a few varying in that range of time, from early on to the last one.

Are all of the audio elements using the same format of audio file?

I just had the same thing happen after I inadvertently dropped an audio file onto the "build" page screen that I was working on from Finder.  HELP! 🙂

If you add a new audio element and upload your file to that, does it display a player instead @wmcoale?

FYI, I created a new page, copied the two "download only" files to the new page, and nothing changed.

I converted the files to MP3, uploaded, and they were fine. Thanks anyway!

What did you convert the files from? The audio player is only supposed to work with .mp3, although, I just tested it with a .wav file and it worked...

Just to be clear you were able to resolve this issue, right?

@Adam

December 29th, January 4th,  on the BUILD page -- Under MEDIA, dragged AUDIO on page.

Uploaded MP3 file --> on the BUILD page It looks like a player.

Hit PUBLISH on the website instead of an Audio Player, it shows a black box "Download" file.

Converted the MP3 to a .wav file, however, Weebly will not upload as it is too big of a file.

Tried using a different site to download .wav file same message

December 14th and December 21 I followed the same method as above, uploading an MP3 and the AUDIO player looks like an audio player on my website. No problems. The same format was used for all MP3 uploads..nothing was different.

Looking at the several entries, I do believe there is a problem.

I tried searching for an audio in Weebly APPs however, there is nothing comparable that can be used in place of this.

Any ideas on what can be done to rectify?

Thanks

iPad using Safari

All show the black box with the DOWNLOAD FILE

Hi @KarenLangston

The audio player is only supposed to work with mp3 files. On your homepage I see the black download box you are describing, but if you look at the file it ends in m4a.

No worries, though. You should be able to convert the file to mp3 through iTunes or an online converter. Please let us know if this does not work for you.

@Bernadette  Not sure why but Itunes download of MP3 was causing issues. Found an online site to convert to Mp3 and you were right..fixed all the problems!

Thanks for the advice!

Cheers
