Anchor links not working on mobile

I have 2 anchor links on my homepage, which bump the screen down the page to the correct spot. It works perfectly on a computer, but on a mobile, they don't work at all unless you navigate there from a different page altogether. Hoping you can help me fix it to work properly on mobile.

The site I'm referring to is compassorganizing.ca

I am having the same problem too and I just found a solution!

I found this response on an old thread, but I don't think I have an original weebly url?  Do all weebly site have one by default?

If you use a proper domain instead of the original weebly url, it won't work.

Example:

http://mydomain.com/#anchorname (This will not work)

http://myweeblydomain.weebly.com/#anchorname (This works and your URL in the address bar looks likehttp://mydomain.com/#anchorname)

Cool Weebly!

Hi. I'm so sorry for the delayed response on this! Where are your anchor links? When I click on your link I see buttons on the home page but they are linked to other pages.

Thank you for posting the answer after having found it! I needed this too, as I assume others will.

My anchor links are not working on mobile. Right now I am buidling a site using a free Weebly domain. However, I plan to switch it over to a domain that I own. It will need to work in both places. Here is the code that I am using on my front page:

https://guchicagog.weebly.com/#calendarevents

Linking to anchor:

<div><a id="calendarevents"></a></div>

It works on the computer, but not on the mobile.

When I switch over, I was planning on changing the link to: https://www.chicagogearup.org/#calendarevents

Help please.

Hi there. Do I click on Upcoming Events to trigger the anchor link? Where should the anchor land? I might be clicking the wrong thing, but it is just redirecting me to the new page.

Hi, Sorry, I didn't see your reply.

Yes, if you click on Upcoming Events, it should take you down the page to the Upcoming Events section further down. But instead on mobile, it just refreshes the page. You can also click on any of the pictures in the slide show for upcoming events above the text. On a computer, it takes you to the right place down the page, but on a mobile, same problem: it just refreshes the screen.

Trying adding "index.html" into your anchor URL, so you have: https://www.chicagogearup.org/index.html#calendarevents
