Adding auto-updated blog feed on homepage

Hi there,

I am starting a blog and am using one of the free themes available, which has a "latest posts" section on the homepage. However when I publish a new post, the "latest posts" section is not automatically updated with my new post.

Would love any assistance on this, thank you!

Those look to be created with combinations of standard elements, @dmt, rather than anything that automatically updates. If you want your most recent post listed like the others, add image/button/text elements to the page to match what the others look like but with content from your newest post.

so what you are saying is that you have to recreate your blog post on your homepage everytime you do a new blog post if you want it to show up there too?

If you want it how it's done with the demo page elements, yes. That's a more graphically interesting way to feature specific posts on another page of a site. There are also some solutions in our App Center that use a blog's RSS feed URL, although they'd probably look different:

I don't know why Weebly hasn't made this feature available for the home page. While searching for an answer to this very question, I found numerous questions from as far back as 2015 asking the same thing. It seems incredibly stupid of Weebly not to have made this an easy option for users and I've now abandoned my newly created account because of it.

The App Center solutions I linked above can be used easily on your home page. They all make use of standard elements which can be dragged to any page of your site.

Is there one that works that is free? I tried the social feed one and it asked me to upgrade when trying to do it. I haven't started my blog yet (I just have one test post) but I want to get it set up to populate on the homepage.

Hey there Ania! The News RSS Feed does offer a solid range of free settings that may suit your needs.

Using that app, makes the feed appear small opposed to filling the page.

I used feed.mikle too but it is still so small! Is there a way to make it fill the whole page or at least put it in the sidebar of the homepage?

Looks like Silk didn't share his solution...

Unless I'm missing it, Weebly didn't provide anything on this too...

Anybody else found a solution and can share?

WordPress.com does this feature automatically. The only app that makes sense is feedmikle but you have to pay for it if you want. Now I am trying to find a solution to transfer Weebly to Wordpress
