When I set a page to "hide in navigation" does it also take it off the sitemap?
Hey there. In order to get around there being no free option to make a multi language site I recreated all of my pages, chose "hide in navigation", translated them to Finnish, and created a second row of navigation buttons labeled in Finnish to help navigate around the Finnish language "side" of my site.
Today I am doing SEO stuff and it dawned on me that "hide in navigation" might also "hide in xml/sitemap" and since we're in Finland being able to do the SEO optimization in Finnish also is immeasurably important. So is this something I need to worry about? Is the Finnish side of my site unlisted when the search engines go to rank my site pages or is everything fine?
Thanks,
Chris

Hiding from your navigation will not hide the page from search engines or your site map; it only prevents it from showing in your navigation. The only thing that would hide it from search engines is if you check that option for the page on the Pages tab.

I know this is an old thread but I'm stuggling here. I've contacted weebly and they've esculated my problem as they can't work out whats happening but who knows how long it will take before I find out whats happening!
The problem: I've duplicated a couple of my pages and hidden them from the navigation so users can't find/ click them in the menu. It also hides it from the crawlers/ web too! I haven't clicked the box to hide from search engines!
I use screaming frog to check things and everything is always instant. Unless I have the page visable on my site navigation it simply wont show on screaming frog but if I make it visable again in the navigation it shows instantly. I've had this problem for years, but once (and only once, with hundreds of attempts) I did manage to get it to show as it should and it happened instantly. No waiting for things to update as weebly are telling me. Waiting does nothing. I can't find a single forum post on this specific issue and I'm tearing my hair out. Can Adam the wise one help?
Thanks,
Adam

Hello fellow Adam! Can you let me know some of the pages that you hid from your navigation? You are 100% correct that it should not be hiding them from search engines unless you also are checking the option to do so.

Hi Adam,
Thanks for posting, I am having the exact same issue! New pages I published, not showing in screaming frog when not in the main navigation. Did you find a solution to this?
Many thanks,
Lindsey
