Facebook and Instagram block my website URL

Hi,

Currently, I'm using the free version of Weebly.

My current website URL is: www.mymgss.weebly.com

I'm trying to copy n paste my website link to Facebook and Instagram. But apparently, there will be an error every time when I'm trying to upload the post containing the URL.

I have tried to use link shortener. It is also not working.

Facebook and Instagram may see that my link is a spam website.
I already reported to them but still no response yet. I read somewhere from some forum that the issue usually is not fixed by them.
Here, I also attached some screenshots to make it clearer to understand my problem.
I am seriously considering to subscribe to the paid version of Weebly if that can solve the problem.
And I am also curious if I subscribe to the paid version and the link is still blocked by Facebook and Instagram, can I get a refund back from Weebly?
Hopefully, someone can help me as soon as possible. Thank you in advance

After upgrading to Connect did you change the address of your site? That is probably why it resolved it since it's the address of the site that they are specifically blocking.

Can you try posting either https://www.speaklifecollective.com/blg/myth-3 or https://www.speaklifecollective.com/blg/myth-2  to Facebook and try changing the audience to "private/only me". I'm curious to see if you will get the error. Whenever I've tested this issue in the past I could set the FB audience to private and duplicate the same error the reporter would see. I can't duplicate that with your posts..

I have this exact same issue now and I've been using the paid version of Weebly for a couple of years now. It's heartbreaking as FB and IG are pretty much the only ways I have to drive traffic to my site. This has never happened to me before, and now I see that it's a Weebly thing and not an FB / IG thing? I've contacted support, but seeing as I'm not a major advertiser, I doubt FB /IG will ever get back to me. Someone at Weebly please help.

I'm sorry to hear, @jillamonster What is the url that is being blocked? We have very little control over what address FB/IG decides to block. Did you try requesting a review?

Hello Bernadette,

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Yes, I did request a review, and to be honest, the Facebook support team was so kind, so helpful and so polite, that had my website remained blocked I would still have had a positive impression of the entire experience. They said my site had been blocked because "it looks like the site was blocked from a false positive" ~ I'm not a web developer so I don't really know what that means, but apparently FB/IG saw my Weebsite as spam / some sort of virus?

My not being a web dev / knowing nothing of web dev is what attracted me to Weebly in the first place > it made it easier for non-techies like me to put up a website; the downside of this is that I have to blindly trust my website platform to know how to prevent other platforms from regarding my website as spam or a virus. I just find it odd because in the 1-2 years I'd used FB/IG to drive traffic to my site, this had never happened before. I mean, shouldn't FB/IG blocked my Weebsite from the get-go, then? Why only now? So it may not have been (entirely) a Weebly thing, and it may have been because FB/IG's filtering system or whatever they call it got stricter (perhaps on account of the proliferation of fake news over the coronavirus).

Anyhow I'm just glad this is all over and FB/IG has unblocked my site. I super hope this doesn't happen again. I had been advised to switch to Wordpress, but I'd already put so much work into my Weebsite and it would've been heartbreaking to start over from scratch (plus I find Wordpress more difficult to use versus Weebly). In any case, thank you so much, Bernadette, for replying, I do appreciate it.

You're welcome, @jillamonster I'm glad you were able to get the issue resolved. A false-positive means the automated system flagged it as spam, but as FB confirmed, it wasn't actually spam. I'm not sure how their system works exactly, but I can say that I've had posts removed and then unblocked without having to reach out to them. Maybe they were making some tweaks at the time?

I guess? I mean who knows how their system works, right? Smiley LOL But all the same I guess I'm glad it got resolved, just wondering how I might prevent it from happening again. But I am grateful for your reply and your kind attention; now I know what a false positive is > thank you Smiley Happy

Thank you again and I hope you guys are okay back there ~ stay safe Smiley Happy

Hello,

I've been dealing with this issue since 2016. How did you finally get Facebook to unblock your site? I've reported it numerous times.

Thanks for any tips!

Megan

good day.

I am also having a issue with faccebook and instagram not wanting me to use my website url, it says my website is spammy... and when you navigate from facebook to my url it "warns" you about the website...

I have my paid domain, my website with the same name is linked to it... and on my page on facebook and instagram with the exact same name I cannot add my website... my website is to review affiliate products. so it contains hoplinks for items that are reviewed, and all the articles I have written myself.

Super frustrating... the website is https://www.duvado3solutions.com, facebook: https://www.facebook.com/duvado3solutions

Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dulaineroode/ (this one accepts the www.duvado3solutions.weeblysite.com for some reason and it jumps to the right site in the end)

this is all very confusing

Thank you for providing more information @DuVaDo3Solution

It does look like the SSL is enabled on your website, so the site is not showing on our end as Spam / Dangerous. However, Facebook and Instagram may have their own verification process. I recommend contacting their support directly to see if they can provide information as to why your website reads as Spam.

hi there.

I have previously sent an appeal to facebook and have not had any feedback yet. Is there any reason why they (Instagram) will accept my site as www.duvado3solutions.weeblysite.com on not as www.duvado3solutions.com? Mabye I have to check if facebook accepts it the same.
