Video Background displaying in Edge browser.

Hello,

Has anybody found a fix for video backgrounds, when displayed in the Edge browser?

Video backgrounds appear to render correctly in Chrome, Firefox, IE and Safari, but appear 'boxed' in Edge.

You can contrast and compare with my site, DesignClassUk.weebly.com

Thank you.

@hunterscotty

Are you referring to the grey on right and left in the top section in Edge?   Don't know whether you noticed but the menu button does not work in Edge either??   All other browsers seem to display correctly...

Hi NJRFTF,

Yes, the boarders left & right. Also, of you resize the window, the video 'window-boxes'.

I hadn't noticed the issue with the menu option with Edge.

@hunterscottyare you using a third party app (I don't believe free weebly has video background feature)?  In that case the app developer might be of help.

No, I am currently trialling Weebly. I'm moving now that Adobe Muse is ending - plus I am thinking of eventually selling some things online. However, I am frustrated by some of the limitations of Weebly. The video not rendering properly on Edge is very frustrating.

My current, live site is: www.DesignClass.co.uk

I am trying to make the Weebly site similar. If I can do so, I will sign up to Weebly.

@hunterscotty:  yes you may be test driving weebly, but how are you embeding video?  Trial or Free version of weebly does not have video capabilitites.

BTW it is a nice site.

Hi Bobafett,

Sorry to correct you, but the Pro, Business and Performance accounts for Weebly do allow for video backgrounds; I am trialing the Business package. It is a selectable menu, along with colour-fill, gradient-fill and photo background.

Thank you for your feedback about the site Smiley Happy

I'm graudually getting the HMTL/CSS to do what I want .

Still the video with Edge browsers is being a real pain.

@hunterscotty:  No problem.  When I saw your domain as a weebly subdomain I thought you were using free weeby.  I didn't know you can test drive paid plans.

Cross browser and various device compatibility is a BIG issue.  I have an issue where something I coded works fine on IE (chrome, firefox win 7), Win 10 Edge (and cell phones) but does not work with chrome and firefox on a 'touch screen' device on a desktop.

Hi

We are still waiting for an official response from Weebly regarding this issue.

Whilst Edge may not be a popular browser, video-backgrounds are a fairly simple item of code.

Have you heard anything from Weebly @bobafett

Sorry for the trouble, @hunterscotty. Have you submitted a ticket to our Customer Success team about it yet? That's the best way to get an issue escalated so our engineers can fix it.

Were you able to get it resolved? I have the same issue on my site. All browsers work properly, except Edge. My site is tbrins.com
