Using reseller Ipage, but cannot use Weebly Apps
Hi,
I came across a problem yesterday where Ipage said I couldnt use the weebly apps, and that it was best for me to rebuild my site using wordpress, which would have been a big task rebuilding.
Today, they said I couldn't use the apps, but if changed the DNS records to point to weebly, then I could move it to weebly direct, they werent sure if the work I have done so far would be there, but said there would be a copy on Ipage, that I could copy and paste in mostly, does anyone know if this is correct and can be done, and how and what I would change the DNS records too?

If you point your domain to us and build a new site with us then you should be able to use apps, @ianabanana.

Unfortunately, no. You'll have to recreate the site in our editor since there are no import/transfer options.

Can I also check, there won't be additional cost to do this?

It depends on the features you are using, @lanabanana What is the name of the website?

Thanks. You are using a custom domain on your site and if you wish to keep it connected to a Weebly site you will need to upgrade to a paid hosting plan. If you continue to sell item you will need to be on (at least) the Pro plan or higher. Possibly the Business plan depending on how many variations you have on your products. You can check out a pricing/feature guide here: https://www.weebly.com/pricing

I'm confused, we are paying hosting with a reseller and signed up for another 18months, do you mean we will need to pay two sets of hosting? To Ipage for their weebly site and then to you as we cannot use all the apps that you have?

It's a completely separate company, unfortunately. Any service you pay to them would not transfer to Weebly and vice versa. What app are you trying to use? Do you have access to the Embed Code element?

I'd like to add a app that boosts traffic to the site, but the reseller says I cant have access to them, yes do have the embed button, could that be a work around?

It depends on what you add; some third party services which work with an app can also be added that way, although it's definitely specific to what you want to add.
