The same member at the same time

I have found that the same member can access the restricted pages of my website from different devices, desk PC and tablet, at the same time. Is there a way to prevent this?

Hi, @Onm!

You should be able to fiddle with the membership settings a bit to make sure people are only seeing the pages you want them to see. One way you can do this is by creating groups, which you can see here: https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/204191853-Membership-Creating-Groups

You can also adjust each page's settings to allow only certain members or groups.

Hi Erin!

I already did that part. My website have two groups and depending on which group you belong to, you have access to some pages or all of them. Visitors have access to some pages, but fewer than the two groups of members.

But this is not the question. The thing is I logged in my website through my tablet with a member email and his password, and at the same time, I logged in through my desktop PC with the same member email and password. So, the same member was connected to my website twice at the same time.

I think a message like " there is a member connected with the same user name" should have prevented the second logging in.

We wouldn't have a way to prevent a single person from logging in using their credentials on multiple devices at once, sorry! Is there a reason you wouldn't want someone to be able to view things using their info on more than one device at a time?

Hello Adam, 

I think this is necesary when the product I am offering is the content in my website. For instance, news and coments, language courses, courses of other subjects, in my particular case, how to memorize using the technique of connecting  and linking ideas (known as unusual associatons).

The visitors reach my website and have access to certain pages (let's say access to chapter 1). If they want to see more, they have to register and become members of a new group (with access to chapter 1 and 2) . If they want to see even more, they contribute and get membership to a new group with access to the whole site for a year (chapters 1 to 4 and maintenance area). Almost all this is ready in my website.

But if different people can access at the same time with the same credentials, only one will contribute for the access.

If a person is a member of your site and you add the to group 1 (which has the least amount of rights to view your content), they can only ever view what you give permission to group 1 to view - regardless of what device they log in with.

I agree on that part, the device is not the key. The key is different people can be logged with the same credentials at the same time.
