SSL not being enabled

I bought a domain name from Weebly yesterday and everything indicates it transfered OK to my old gatewaytojesusministries.weebly.com site. When I try to enable SSL I get this message. "In order to enable SSL on your website, your domain's DNS settings need to be updated."  Can you do this for me? The site is gatewaytojesusministries.com. Thanks

Hey there 👋 You purchased a hosting plan, but didn't register or purchase the domain name. You will need to log into your account and register the domain from Website > Domains > Connect a domain.

Please let me know if you run into trouble with this.

Good Morning

Wow I seriously got this screwed up. I feel like such an idiot. I was in a hurry and got confused when trying to convert my gatewaytojesusministries.weebly.com sub domain to gatewaytojesusministries.com. I started out trying to buy the new domain name and ended up buying a hosting plan instead. When I saw the message, “gatewaytojesusministries.com was successfully connected. It can take 24 hours for changes to appear across all browsers.” I just assumed the new domain was good. I didn’t even realize I didn’t actually purchase the domain because I got further confused by my purchase of the Connect Plan saying this would connect me to a custom domain and the first year was free. Now I can’t even get my old sub domain back because it says it’s unavailable. It was not a good day.

So how do I fix this mess?  I just want to change from a Weebly sub domain to gatewaytojesusministries.com.  Do I need the Custom Plan hosting to do this or can I just connect the new domain name to my site?  If I don’t need it, can you refund the $60? If I do need the hosting plan, I’ll just buy the domain but I’m not sure how it would transfer since the sub domain no longer shows up in my account. How would I connect it?  Any help you can give me would be really appreciated. Thanks

Sorry for the confusion! The checkout flow is not very clear on what you are purchasing.

Yes, you will need the Connect plan in order to publish to a custom domain. You can search for the domain to purchase by clicking Website > Domains > Connect a domain.

Please let me know if you have trouble with this.
