Refund

Hi

In May I paid for 2 years of the Starter plan. Yesterday I decided to upgrade to the Pro plan, and paid for two years. I am not sure if the Starter plan payment was deducted from my payment or if I have paid twice? Could you please check and let me know?

Kind regards

Carolina

Hi, @plute.

I took a look at your account, and it looks like you upgraded to Starter in May, then upgraded from that to the Pro plan a few days ago. Did you do that so you could use a feature of the Pro plan?

Yes, I upgraded so I could have more items for sale in my web shop.

The plan upgrade was prorated, so the remaining credit from your Starter plan applied at checkout.

You can view this under Account Settings > Order History Smiley Happy

Hello @Adam,

I purchased a Weebly online Professional Site Plan for $16.00 and a domain and domain protection from Weebly on July 3. I would like to get both of these charges refunded, and importantly, get the domain canceled so that I am not unable to reregister the domain in the next 12 months. Thank you!

Oh, Additionally, @Adam, I would be greatly appreciative to understand how soon I can regain the domain. I have been trying to use cloudflare to proxy the domain for my needs, but something about the interaction between Weebly and CloudFlare (I think) has caused the domain to not work properly, but has prevented me from reregistering the same domain to make my site work.

I think that the place to start would be with a refund and a cancelation of the domain. Will I be able to reregister the domain that way?

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi Daniel. We only have 5 days for purchase to refund and return a domain to the public registrar.

Can you explain the issue you are having with the site?

Hello Bernadette,

I am having issues with the domain and the site because I was having difficulties using the website builder for a non-profit website and because I was greatly struggling to make the Name Servers and the DNS work for the domain for an external site. I am not totally sure as to why it is not working, but I might estimate that it is because the external site's DNS system uses proxying which Weebly has difficulties recognizing. As we are hoping to launch the website in the very near future, and the domain hosting is the main hiccup, I would greatly appreciate it being returned to the public registrar.

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi there @DanielLogan

Unfortunately, since the domain was purchased a month ago, we would not be able to return it back to the public registrar. The domain is currently in a 60-day lock that all new domains are placed into, however, once that is lifted you will be able to transfer the domain to another host!

Regarding issues trying to update the domains records, you can respond to this message or you can contact our Customer Success team directly. Smiley Happy

Hello Dani,

In that case, could I possibly have a refund on the professional site plan? Thank you. I recognized that in the case of a domain, it is legally complicated to unregister it, but I had reached out for a refund prior to the 30 days for the other portions. I also was autobilled for a second month of website, which I believe that I had turned off the auto-renewal for.

If I can at least get a refund for the portions besides the Domain, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Daniel

Hello @Dani_G,

Could I possibly still get a refund for the portions besides the domain? I recognize that the time which it took to process this request took the domain past the 30 day mark, and that it would be legally complicated to unregister it. However, I just got a notification that I had been auto-billed for a second month of the website, which I am almost certain that I had turned off autobilling for.

May I please recieve a refund for the portions which I can recieve a refund for as I requested prior to the 30 day deadline? If the domain is not possible to transfer until 60 days, I understand that. However, I had requested a refund for the website, as well as the domain protection, prior to the 30 day deadline.

Thank you,

Daniel Logan
