I’ve upgraded to Pro so I could get the free domain. I seem to be having to pay for it now. Why?
I have researched this in the community. Two years ago this issue was raised by several different people. The explanation was that the purchase was made through the App, which is what I did. Why on earth has this stupidity not been sorted? If you can tell a purchase is being made through the App, why not explain the difference in the App buying process? It seems to have caused people stress. It’s causing me stress. I wnt my free domain. I need it NOW. I have business reasons to not want to be mucking about. I want to get my site transferred to my new domain. I want to .. weirdly ... get on.
This is very poor. I did not spend £150, just to find that I was not getting on the App what had been promised on the website, yesterday, after the fact.

Aye, given the crickets from you, I had to go and spend another two hours working out what on earth was going on and how the opaque weebly process thinks. I still don't know, but I purchased the domain separately, because I did not have the time to waste waiting for your guidance. Hey presto, it came up with the free domain for the first year. That was not prefigured anywhere. Shoddy and unintuitive. So I bought a further year at the time.
Seriously, your system is nothing short of pathetic.

What domain are you trying to purchase and for how long? There are a couple domain extensions which cost more, though they are less commonly purchased. Also, make sure you select one year for the registration length, since it defaults to two.

It ought to be clear from what I wrote that I am not yet at the purchasing stage on a specific domain. I know the one I want, it is a dot com. Th point is do I really have to do this as a separate transaction because I boughtit on the App? I don't want two transactions going through every year.A
For some reason I am going to have to use the new domain as a free domain, rather than my Pro Plan domain, which is what I was wanting to do. Seems obvious to me that when I upgrade an account with a domain, that the new domain comes under that account, not some other new account which will then have to be upgraded at a cost of £150 p.a. in addition to the one I have already paid for. This looks like sharp practice.
And, if you're telling me that it defaults to two, when the offer is for one year, I can only take that as a scam.
This is extremely poor. There are two ships with three thousand people aboard in port right now. I'm losing business.

I should also point out that advertising something as free, then saying it has been taken off and that's why the price went down, and then telling people they have ti pay for it to be added back on, is something UK Trading Standards officers might be extremely interested to hear about.

It seems we have the same situation and that's what I'm complaining now. I was in the belief that upgrading from free to Pro Plan includes therein a FREE DOMAIN as stated in the choices of plan. But I realize that I have to pay separately for the DOMAIN Name for $19 plus $10 security.
This sounds confusing, I do hope the admin / weebly can explain this and find the right solution.

You have a couple options right now, @mikereb. We can refund the monthly upgrade so you can buy a one or two year upgrade to get the domain credit, or you can buy the domain separately. If you want to do the latter let me know and I can give you a coupon to reduce the price some.

I'm confused, @chasyboy - I see that you had the credit for a free one year registration in the account with the site you upgraded, and you used that to register a domain for 2 years. You were charged for the 2nd year of the registration since the coupon only covers one.
