Modifiers

Hi, I would like my customers to be able to select a specific amount for each modifier, not just the modifier. Is this possible?

For example, I have 3 different modifier items. I would like my customers to be able to select that they would like to recieve 10 of item 2 at 0.25c each and 5 of item 3 at 1.00 each. Meaning an additional $7.50 would get added to their order. How would I go about doing this?

Item    Name    Amount    Customer Selection     Total

1        - ABC     0.50           0                                  0

2        - BCA     0.25            10                                2.50

3        - CAB     1.00            5                                 5.00

I think you'd need to split this into separate items or use variations, @mindbodyessence, so that the quantity will increase based on the number selected. Modifiers are designed to 'modify' an item and change the price based on that modification rather than by count.

Hi Adam,

Thanks, but that would mean I would need millions of variations, which would kill usability and my business model. I have mocked up an example of what I am after below. It would be great to have the addition of quantity buttons that a customer can select for each modification, with the calculation of price. Is this something that I can arrange to have done as this is the premise of my business model?

Hmm.. one thing you could do is set your modifier minimum and maximum to 1, which would allow a customer to add that item with one modifier selected and then adjust the quantity accordingly. They could then add the same item to their cart again but pick a different modifier and select a quantity for that instead.

Nope, that's not user friendly. Can I pay to get this coded?

I wouldn't imagine it wouldn't be that hard - a quantity button on the customer GUI, and some code in the background to calculate total costs, and the backend setup GUI. I say this, but I am not a coder Smiley LOL

My whole business model rests on the premise of absolute customisation and I don't particularly want to go and find another website building platform, nor make it difficult for the customer.

Sorry, I know I am being a pain!

I'm not sure there's any way for someone to custom code that for you in a way that would function with the back end, although you'd probably want to talk to a web developer.
