How do I widen an image?

If I enlarge the picture it makes the whole box bigger - but I just want it to enlarge sideways ... ??

www.matamatatravel.co.nz   I have changed the stock standard picture on the home page which now says "flight plans" the other 2 pictures were already there so I want the plane to be the same size as them ... its only slightly out but driving me nuts!   thanks Bernadette

@JulzinNZ   can u edit the images in a 3rd party app to all the same size  b4 uploading ??
