How do I rearrange the variations for one item when in the edit product page?

I'm trying to keep things tidy but when I add variations to my item the drop down menu for the customer is all over the place, not in the order I wrote them in..

When you add a new variation, is it added to the end or beginning of the list or somewhere in between?
