Dear Weebly Community,
I tried all I can think of, but for some reason I can't add the social icons to the footer of our website https://www.beesforpeace.org/ so that they show on all pages automatically rather than me adding them manually everywhere. How can I fix this? I would gladly appreciate your help!

@MiraBelle Note that you must add at least one social media link address in the social icons element before it appears on the front end. What you see in the Editor is not necessarily what you see on the front end. The social icons element will only display the icons for which you have specified the social media page link.

If you have paid starter plan or higher, that area is just another drag and drop area.

@MiraBelle The footer section editing works a little differently from the main body content zone. In the Site Editor, you must first click into the footer zone to open it up to editing. Next click the "Build" menu item to see all the available content elements one of which will be the social media icon set element. Drag and drop that element into the footer zone and set up your social media links per usual. Once done, click "Save" to exit the footer content zone and save your work.

Dear @PaulMathews ,
thank you so much for your detailed explanation! I tried that many times, but they just don't show once the page goes online! I have a similar problem when I add them to the page manually. I'm not sure if I can explain that properly (obviously not), but... When you're building the main body of each standard page, you do so in front of a background that can be plain or show a photo or whatever. Then, onto or into this, you can drop all the elements, such as texts, headers, spacers, images or alike. Strangely, if I want to add the social icons just like that, they won't show on the website. So what I'm doing is basically copying one of those "background" zones from a hidden page, where miraculously the social icons started showing, to the page I'm working on and then dragging the social icon element into this other background zone. Then it works.
So I guess it might be a similar problem with the footer? There is this black "background zone" and within it a text field that says something about copyright. So, when I'm dragging the social icons there, they are their own element that I can either put above, beside or below this text element, but not in it. And then the icons are not showing. What am I doing wrong???

Hi @MiraBelle
I see your social icons at the bottom of the page directly above the footer area.
I was also able to add the element to the footer area following the same steps Paul suggested. Does the rest of the editing space darken when you click on the footer to edit? If you see the "save footer" button you have properly opened the footer area to edit.
Note: I did remove the icons after adding them to the footer because I wasn't sure if you had sorted this out since the icons are showing now on the website.

Well that did it!
I suppose it never occured that the links to the social media weren't saved for quick use.
Thanks for saving me hours of extra unnessisary work!
