How can I sell one item in multiple formats and sizes?

I'm setting up a photography store and would like to offer prints in paper and canvas.  I would also like to offer multiple sizes for these.  How can I format the backend so that when a customer chooses paper, the canvas options and prices are not there?  At the moment, all I can see to do as a workaround is have a long list with all the product options.

Thanks for your post, @markedimages. We don't really have conditional options at the moment, so what might be easier to make two separate items: a paper print and a canvas print, that way each only has options that are relevant to to the media used for printing.
