How can I become the administrator of my own website?
I paid someone 10 years ago to build my website "www.donjordanmusic.com" but I gather he remained owner of the site. He made me an editor in 2013, and several years ago told me he had too much on his plate, didn't want to have any more to do with the site, and it was all mine. Sometimes when I'm editing the site I ask to do something and a box pops up saying I have to get administrator permission to do it. Looking in the site under 'Settings/Editors' I find that one of my email addresses is given as 'Administrator'. So am I the Administrator or not? What do I do about this, please?
Also, I could find no way to ask a question under the headings here dealing with administration. How does one do that? I'm sure it would be easier than having to set up a new topic in order to ask a question. I am so frustrated. 😞

Hi @DonJor Thanks for reaching out.
I'm a little confused, because the account you are logged into is the master account, and not a contributor account for the website.
Are you logging into Weebly with different email addresses?
Can you post a link of the error message you described in your post?

Thanks, Bernadette.
I'm having so much trouble getting this reply accepted. I just got "Authentication failure". I don't know why.
I'll try some short replies and see if I can get one through.
I don't know what a master account and a contributor account is.

For a long time I never had to "log in" to the website. I can't remember how I did it, but I typed weebly.com into the search and it took me to a page that had a "Edit site" button which I clicked on and it took me to my page.
While mucking around trying to reply to you I seem to have made a new password for my [email protected] email address and that gets me in to a weebly page with an "Edit page" button. Pardon me for not remembering the steps, but I find the whole thing so complicated and confusing.
I had discovered amongst the many sheets of paper I have, includine copies of emails, a number of combinations of username and password that didn't work any more. But at least I have one now.
I don't know what you mean by a link of the error message, or where I would find it now.

I'll now try entering the web address that I used to get when I entered Weebly.
weebly.com/app/home/users/4906406/sites/378137632941217205/dashboard#login
This page contained the "Edit site" button.
I don't understand these things, but it seems to me that this might be somewhere on my PC, given the home/users bit.

When I click on the HD Video button under the "Build" command and dragging it on to the page where I'd like to insert a video, I get the message:
"Upgrade Required. This feature is part of our Pro Package. Please ask the owner of the site [email protected] to upgrade the site in order to use this feature."
Clive would not like me contacting him, and I have no wish to.
Another thing is that I have uploaded videos to the website and haven't had this message appear before. It was a couple of years ago at least that I uploaded the videos, and I can't remember how I did it.
End of my replies. Hope you can help me. Don.

Hi @DonJor I'm sorry, but none of your replies ended up in my queue for some reason 🤔 I apologize for the delayed response here!
I'm looking at your account details again, and it does appear that you ARE logged in as a contributor. I must have overlooked that initially by loading the account by the URL. That's my mistake for all the confusion here.
Unfortunately, in order to upgrade your account, you'll need to reach out to the account owner which does appear to be Clive. The account is currently on a free plan and will not allow you to use the HD Video element unless you upgrade to the Pro plan. Again, this actually needs to be actioned by Clive.
