I wanted to see if there was a way to query an external database (in this case a ZoHo Creator database) to determine membership status.
For example, an event is offered to members only. When a member or non-member attempts to sign up, I want to conduct a lookup behind the scense to determine if they are members or not (based on email address, for example). If they are a member, they can proceed to the next step -- if not, then we take them down another path to signing up for membership and/or being put on a waiting list for the event (members get priority).
We may set up a Members Only page (which would require each member to login with their email/password to gain access to the signup page) -- but our members tend to be older, and the simpler we can make it, the better!
