Cursor in Text Box

When I click in a text box, why does the cursor jump to the top of the box?

I can't count how many times I thought I had clicked in the text box and started typing only to find my cursor up at the top of the text box instead of where I tried to insert it.

Sometimes it can take three or four clicks before the cursor will go where I want it to go.

Super annoying and can't for the life of me think of the utility of such an arrangement.

@dougearl1

This can be one of those annoying side-effects of your browser cache being at it's limit.

If you are using Windows as your OS there is a keyboard shortcut to clear it.

If you are using Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox you can quickly clear cache with a keyboard shortcut. While in your browser, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete simultaneously on the keyboard to open the appropriate window.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but that's not the problem.

This has happened every single time I click in a text box since I started using Weebly last year, whether my cache is full or not (I empty it regularly).
Just to be clear, every time I click in a text box that already has text in it, and then start typing, the cursor jumps to the top of the text and the new typing goes in there.  If I try to click (I suppose to activate the box) and then click a second time, the cursor either goes where I want it, or it doesn't show up at all.

It seems to me a feature to have the cursor start at the top of the text box each time, but I can't for the life of me think why, when what I want to do is type where I put the cursor.
Cheers,

Doug

It looks like you're using an older version of Mac OS, @dougearl1. Try updating your computer to the newest version you can install (mac OS Mojave is the newest version available right now).

Hi Please help

I have the same problem and it has driven me mad today for about 4 hours....feel like I'm wasting my time on something that should take 5 minutes!

This has happened on all my weebly sites and it happened when I used firefox and it still happens in the latest Chrome. Verrry Very Frustrating. I had to give up and my site page looks like rubbish because I just COULD NOT  complete the task of uplading new text.

It also happens everytime I update my blog. I don't use a MAC.

HOW CAN I FIX THIS????? PLEASE ADVISE!!!!

Tricia

Sorry to hear that it's been frustrating for you, @triciamon. This kind of thing can happen with a lot of text editors, although it's odd because it's not always consistent. Are you able to get the cursor at the end of your text after first click in the element, then clicking again after your text?
