Can I capture additional information during the Member Registration?

Are there any apps, add-ons, plug ins etc that would allow me to capture one additional field (location) from members when registering?  This is huge for me that I don't know the town my members live in.  There has to be some way to do this....

Hello!

Where signing up for Membership is concerned, the form isn't currently editable. However, you may want to set up a separate Form element for members to fill out once registered. That way, you can collect further information from them for your own records.

Ok, but how would I get the members to go to the form and actually fill it out after they've registered?  Looking for suggestions on how to do this smoothly.....

Personally, I'd make the form part of a members-only page, which would serve as the landing page for members-only content on the site. However, integrating it smoothly may vary depending on how your site is set up. What are members currently able to do on the site?

The members have access to pages that have jobs available to them.  So once they register they can look at various amounts of pages so not sure that would work?
