Accidentally deleted a text box....

So ive accidentally deleted a text box for uni assignment due tomorrow, been reading some older posts stating there is no way to recover because of the auto save feature, is this still the case?

Unless things have changed recently the following applies regarding deletions:

  • Accidentally delete complete site - Support can generally restore...
  • Accidentally delete entire page - Support can generally restore...
  • Accidentally delete part of a page - Support cannot restore...

The information @NJRFTF is correct, unfortunately. We can try to restore individual elements, but cannot guarantee if anything will return. Please let us know the page name, and we'll do our best to recover.

@Ollie1994 If the site page containing your text box was published publicly for a time, you may be able to see that information in a cached version. If you conduct a Google search, to the immediate right of each search result url is a small downward-facing arrow. Click that and select "Cached" from the drop-down list. This will take you to a copy of the most recently cached copy of that page. For example, if you Google search for "weebly" and then scroll down the page to the (organic not paid) Weebly result, to the right of the Weebly url (www.weebly.com) is that arrow to view the last cached version of the home page.

If that last cached version is not early enough for you to view your text, you can try the Wayback Machine site: https://archive.org/web/. Enter the page url where your text is and run the Wayback machine to see if it has a cached copy of that page with your lost text. If it does, you can just copy the text and add it back to a text element in your current site.
