domain unavailable

@Bernadette I just edited my published site and when I try to publish the site, it asks me to choose a domain name but the domain name for my published website turns up as unavailable. I can only choose paid domains.

Can you click on the grey sites dropdown on the top left of the dashboard, then click on the other site in the list? The dashboard should refresh selected on that site. Once that happens, try editing and publishing that site.

Hi @ek325 It's possible the domain is already registered elsewhere. What is the domain name you are trying to register?

This is my website: elnazkia.weebly.com, so the domain is weebly.com. I was never asked about the domain before. I don't understand since I am using the free version of Weebly and this shouldn't be a problem.

I see you have a site in your account already using that address, and the site is published @ek325. Are you you trying to publish the other site in your account, or were you able to set the site address successfully?

@Adam Thanks for your response. No, I only have one website. I was just trying to edit the information and this happened. So, if you look up my website, it will come up and it is fine, but I need to make some changes, and when I do and then try to republish, it asks about the domain.

Thanks, @Adam. That fixed the problem. Do you know why that happened? Should/can I delete "my website", the one without a domain?

I really appreciate your help.

How do you typically access the website? Sometimes people may click on an onboarding link from a search engine and accidentally create an additional site. Since you are allowed up to 10 sites per account you probably didn't see an error or warning prompt. You can delete the site if you do not need it by clicking the three dots to the right of the site name.
