how do I make a PPE charge on square. it used to deduct it out of sales but now does not?

Hello @jjgrossman thanks for your post. I'm not familiar with this exactly...is this a charge for protective equipment related to COVID? Are you able to just create a new item, call it PPE charge for a certain amount, and add it to your sale?

Thank you for stopping by with this question, this is really interesting I have not heard of a PPE charge before. But what @HC_Charlie is a great workaround many sellers utilize, thanks again for your help! If you want to add a service charge you can do so as well, below are steps on how to go about creating one. 

To create and edit service charges:

1. Go to Account & Settings from your online Square Dashboard. 

2. Click Business > Service charges > Create a service charge. 

3. Name your charge, choose a percentage-based or fixed price service charge, then enter the amount of the charge. 

4. Select the location where the charge applies and add any applicable taxes.

5. Click the toggle if you want to automatically apply this charge to Online orders, then select which fulfillment types you want the charges to apply to. 

6. Click Save.
