Wholesale help

I have two retail locations with Square registers, just moved our website over to Square (weebly) a few weeks ago.

I’m wondering if there’s a way wholesale customers can place orders on the website as well as retail customers. I made a discount coupon, which works well *enough*… but I cannot find a way to remove sales tax from the order. I don’t see an option in the customer settings but that would be an easy solution.

And I cannot refund the sales tax specifically either. I can only refund a total dollar amount, but my reports will still have the tax as being collected so I’ll still have to pay it in to the state, per the reports.

Anyone else out there get wholesale and retail orders online? How’d you do it? I love Square, but the website is so limiting.

Hello @aliciavr6 thanks for your post. I also sell both wholesale and retail. The discount option is a good idea, but you're correct in that sales tax is still an issue. I do not think you can turn off sales tax for particular customers. My work around is this, but if you have a large inventory this may not work for you: I create two versions of my items, and for the wholesale item I reduce the price and also turn off Sales tax by item. I have a separate web page for my wholesale customers to order from, and I have this page password protected so only my approved wholesale customers can access this.

I know this isn't ideal, and maybe someone else who is also selling wholesale/retail can offer more alternatives.

Thank you!! I need it to pull from our inventory (and only have our actual inventory available) so two items won’t work very well for me. Creating invoices every time seems to be best but what a pain.

I do wholesale and create invoices, not such a hassle and you can also Create recurring invoices and process repeat payments with Square. From the invoice section on your Dashboard

It’s more of a hassle for the customer to order what we have in stock. We have somewhere around 250 products that we make, so I have to limit to what is actually in stock. So they have to check the website, select in store pickup, enter the quantity, then write a list in an email.
