What can I do if a card is declined?
What is the process of getting another square, if your previous one is lost?

Well, those are 2 independent questions.
1. The Square Point of Sale app will tell you that a card is declined and then you can choose to take another form of payment.
2. You can request a free reader from this link. https://squareup.com/dashboard/account/reader-request
or you can go to a local store and buy one for $10 and there is a $10 gift card included so it ends up being free. https://squareup.com/where-to-buy

I have found if a card is declined I cannot go any further. What method do I need to utilize to take another form of payment? Both of my screens tire red with decline and I have no other options but to put another card in the reader. But what if the customer doesn’t have another card and wants to pay with cash? What steps do I need to take to clear the decline screen

Credit cards may decline for a variety of reasons, but in each case, the decline is caused by the cardholder network or bank.
When this occurs, you can select the small cross in the top-corner of your screen to exit out of the payment. You will need to process the payment again, either with a different card or by selecting an alternate payment type.
If you're not seeing this option, please send through a screenshot example of the card declined messaging you are seeing on your end.
