Square Feedback: Can you edit the feedback provided through Square?

The title of this thread was updated from its original title: “Customer accidently posted negative feedback. is this correctable?”.

I had a client say she accidently posting a negative feedback. She would like to correct it. I do believe was accident as she posted rave review on facebook. So 2 questions...

How does negative feedback impact my buisness? Is this seen publicly somehow?

Can she or I correct this feedback?

Hello @Muktinath -

I totally understand your concern and I’m happy to let you know that the feedback your customers provide isn’t made visible to the public at all. We include Square Feedback on your customer's receipts to provide the chance to exchange feedback about recent experiences that can help you gain insight into the success of your business.

You can continue to encourage your customers to post on your business's Facebook and Yelp pages. You can also check out our new features in Square Marketing that encourage your customers to review your business on a public platform!

I hope this answers your question, please let me know if I can answer any others.

@Tension That makes sense. You can disable the feedback option if it's helpful. Under the Customers page in your online Dashboard you'll want to click Settings > Feedback. From there you can toggle off the option to collect feedback from your digital receipts.

Hope this is helpful.

Is there a way to use the feedback request to encourage the customers to give public feedback somewhere?  I have customers who leave me glowing reviews not knowing that I am the only one reading them. They are definitely written with the public in mind.

I have a customer that mistakenly gave us negative feedback. She was in fact happy with her service. How do i go about fixing it to reflect her actual feelings? Thanks

feedback isn't changeable by you or the customer.  the system is kind of messed up because you can accidentally click on the sad face to start the feedback step and that is it you are already leaving negative feedback.

The good news is it doesn't matter at all as the feedback is only between you and the customer and no other customer can see it.  It isn't like a seller rating on eBay.  so no need to fret over it.

My customer accidentally left negative feedback and would like to remove it. How is this done?

while it sounds simple that isn't something that can be done.  It doesn't matter in the end as the feedback is only private to you and no one else can see it.

How do I change feedback on a recent purchase? The item came broken so I gave it a bad review. The vendor has returned it and I’m waiting for a refund; I want to change my original comment. How is this done?

At this moment there is no option to edit the feedback we provide for each purchase, as well to give a good feedback the merchant can resend the receipt and it will have the box to give feedback as well and there you can enter the feedback you want to provide.

Customers should be able to correct a mistaken bad review of a vendor. I thought Squareup was asking to review their service and not the vendor. Now I’ve created bad feelings with a new friend and her new business. This mistake should be able be retracted
