Posting a sale to a category rather than a specific item

Is there a way to post a Square sale to a category when there is not a specific item set up in inventory?

Also, I haven't found a way to add a note to the sale when selecting an inventory item in the sale. The note only appears to work when using the keypad rather than choosing a library item.

Yes..

Dashboard >  Items >  Discounts >  Create Discount > under automatic discount toggle on discount rules > select item/category >  then go ahead and add your edible items/categories

you can also toggle on a schedule as well.

It's pretty handy

Now, I don't believe that this works on the online side so you'd have to go in your online backend and set a discount on the side too- if you need help with how to do that let me know.
