Multiple employees using same POS - do they have to log in and out for each transaction?

We are a busy concession counter with 2-3 employees using a single POS terminal during a shift. Right now the terminal is logged in as me (Owner). In order to better control the cash drawer security, and to know which employee handled each transaction, do I have to have them log in and out for each transaction? This seems time-consuming. I have set up each employee with a 4-digit passcode and finger print, but I don't understand how that works and there is no prompt for them to enter a code. Confused. Thanks for any help here!

Are you using Square Point of Sale App?  Or are you using different software currently and you are looking to use the Square Point of Sale app?

If you go to the app settings you can change the setting from logging out after each transaction to not logging out or logging out after a certain amount of time.

I have the same question. I need to be able to track employee updates to invoices and POS transactions. I thought by setting them up with a 4 digit code, then they would be prompted to enter their code for all transactions.

If you turn on Employee Management on your app you can track who is ringing the sales.  Here is a screen shot of all the options.  At the bottom, it says lock after each sale.  This will require them to enter their code every time.

Note: that it does not track who does and invoice.  It only tracks who took the payment.  You can see all changes made in the invoice history you just will not know who did it.
