Loyalty members signup page?

When customers signup on the "Hosted Sign-up Page" to join our mailing list, does that automatically opt them into the loyalty program?

We would love this type of functionality! Allowing our customers to be able to sign up for our loyalty program online, and newsletter at the same time, would be amazing.

The short answer here is no, when customers sign up to join your mailing list they aren't automatically added to Square Loyalty. This is because your customers opt-in to a Loyalty program by text message, not by email.

However, if you've subscribed to the Loyalty feature, you can enable a feature called Collect Contacts. Any customers who provide their email address this way will be reachable in your Directory, and can send them newsletters/coupons or other marketing campaigns.

@Helen I can understand that - but why not implement an automatic email just like birthday collection, or an online signup page just like the standard email collection form, for an opt-in to the Loyalty Program via text message?

The value of getting loyalty customers into the mailing list database is just as high as the value of getting mailing list people into the loyalty program - and especially merging those two lists to get even more customer data.
