Is there a way to have an item available in the Online Store as an Add-on item?

I would like to make some items available in the Online store only when another item is purchased. Is there a way to do this?

I may need to get some more insight into specifically what you are looking to accomplish with your item addition. What specifically are you selling with an add-on? This may be a good opportunity to explore Variations or Modifiers to your items. While these features don't automatically make a hidden item suddenly available, they can be used to add more items to an already existing purchase with added cost.

Hi there - the modifier option does appear to be the way to achieve what I was looking for. I have successfully used "Modifier" to add an optional stand to jewelry cabinet by making the wall mounted option as free and charging for the stand as the second option.  I have not yet tried adding additional products as Modifiers but I think that will work as well. (Specifically, we sell board butter to care for our kitchen boards. I don't want to sell the butter alone but if someone buys a board I will add the modifier to buy the board butter)

Related to this topic, but Variations and Modifiers won't really work for us. 

We have a lot of smaller, low price items in our store that we would like to be 'add on' items when shipping. So they could not be purchased individually, but rather in addition to other items. This could be accomplished a few ways: minimum order value met before add on item can check out (this would be preferred in case the customer orders, say 20 of the add on items that get them to the value threshold instead of making it reliant on shipping with another item);
OR the total shipping weight (or shipping charge) has to be met for the add on item to be allowed to check out; 
OR the item quantity in the cart could need to be a certain value before the add on item can be added (least preferred since our items vary so much in both size and price) 

Any suggestions or is this a feature request?

At this time, the options to add on items you're describing would be a feature request. 

While you can set up a weight-based shipping fee, there isn't a way to link this to an add on item being checked out. I'll pass your suggestion on to our eCom team for consideration and will be sure to update you with any news here.
