Is there a way to customize tip settings per item?
I'm using square at my hair salon. We have multiple stylists and sell products. Our issue is with the tipping system. When selling product and a service at the same time, the tip is calculated on the entire purchase, not just the services. I realize there is a custom option but most people don't realize that and end up tipping us for the products as well. We have only had a couple complaints but ethically it feels bad knowing some people tip 20% on a $100 service and $100 worht of product. Is there a way to allow tipping on only our service items?

As far as I know, no.
The whole tipping portion of Square is something I hope the engineers give more attention to. We'd love to be able to change the language from 'tip' to 'donation' so that folks can make a donation to our organization when making purchases.

I really need this feature. It’s costing me money. When I make the tipping option “custom” and not “percentage” my clients find it hard to calculate the percentage after I’ve switched it to Custom, so they struggle caculating the right percentage to leave. There needs to be an option to only tip on Services not Service and products. My clients shouldn’t have to do any work because Square doesn’t separate tip percentage from items sold.
