Any tips for adding the same variants to an entire category vs. for each item separately within a category? Among other things, I sell pendants, and want to use variants so someone can choose which length necklace they want included in their purchase. I'm hoping I don't have to type all 6 options one at a time into every pendant I sell!! At that rate it would be easier to sell different chain lengths as their own item with a separate price but I'd rather not do it this way. Thanks for any advice!

@michelesart I would just use a modifier for this type of adjustment. The pendant is the item. I would build a modifier that includes the different style/type of chains. You can add the appropriate cost for each one if there are upgrades based on length. You can even add a NO CHAIN as an option if you like. You can then add that modifier to as many different items as you like quickly from the modifiers screen. You can also restrict the modifier to only 1 choice to prevent confusion.
The great thing about this is if you run out of say 24" silver chains you can just take this option off temporarily and add it back at any time.
Hope this helps.

@Donnie-M , awesome, this was very helpful! I built the modifier with the 6 choices (5 chain plus 1 no chain), but is there a way to add that modifier to all the pendants I have at one time as a batch? When I click the bulk edit button, there are options like adding tax, making an item invisible/hidden, deleting them, adding to a category, etc., but not to manage the modifier for all of them. Right now I only have 11 pendants but I'm getting ready to add 60+, and I can definitely foresee where I'd need to mark a chain length as unavailable periodically, and other scenarios where I'd want to adjust a modifier without clicking on each item and applying it individually. I know this is pure user error on my part! 🙂 Could you walk me through how I could apply that modifier in bulk for all the pendants at once? I can only find the Manage Modifiers tab when I click on an individual pendant, but not when I click on the Jewelry category tab, etc. Because each pendant is one of a kind, I set them up as separate items in my Item Library each with an inventory of 1, versus 1 item (Pendant) with a stock of 11. Not sure if maybe I set it up wrong by doing it this way... I appreciate any guidance you are willing to provide!

@michelesart What you can do is go to the modifier page on your online dashboard. On the far right side you can apply the modifier to multiple items with nice little check boxes.
As you build items from here on out the modifiers you have in your catalog can easily be checked on or off on each item page as you build it.
Glad I could help you crack this!
