Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 compatible with Square?

Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 compatible with Square? The Compatibility List lists the Galaxy 8 & 8+; the Note 8 is virtually the same system, but not on the list.

The note 8 is listed and is compatible with both readers that plug into the headphone jack.

Listed are the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (?) and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-fi.

Neither of these are the proper name for my phone, nor is there a phone called Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-fi (to the best of my knowledge)

Neither of those listed are compatible with the wireless Square (which is what I need), even though the Galaxy S8 & S8+ are; and even though they are basically the same system.

So I find the compatibility unclear and I need confirmation one way or the other.

The Galaxy Note 8 may be missing a key Bluetooth profile the prevents the reader from working.  Not sure.  Don't know when it was tested or if there have been any software updates to the Note 8 that would allow the reader to work.
