I need a separate QR code for each item for sale in an art gallery.
An item sold will need to be scanned by the person in charge of the gallery on that day. The person will have Square on their phone but the sale needs to go to my account (no theirs) for tax reasons. If I can't do this, I am in danger of losing the sale because out phone service is unreliable and I can't take the credit card number over the phone.
I cannot find anything to create individual QR codes in this app. to do what I need. Is it even possible? Or am I searching in vain?
Don't talk about website QRs or the like because I don't understand what that is. It's like trying to sift mud.
Thanks
Very frustrated

@studios You might be overthinking and complicating this, unless I’m completely misunderstanding your needs.
You need for all sales to be rung up in your Square account? That’s easy, really. All you have to do is create device codes for each person to give them access to your Square account for the purposes of sales only for the day. They login into Square using the device code you give them, the ring up sales the regular way — by selecting an item from your POS grid. No QR codes. No magic. Just sales that are booked to you, and the cards will be processed into your account. That is MUCH easier and straightforward than trying to do QR code magic, which would be highly complicated even IF Square allowed QR codes for each item. Trust me, that would be a nightmare for everyone, and I’m not even sure it would be possible.
To create device-specific codes for each of your gallery people to use to log in to YOUR Square account, go to here on your Square online dashboard — https://squareup.com/dashboard/point-of-sale/devices
For each person, click on Add Point Of Sale and give it their name. It will generate a unique Square sign-in code that you can give them. When they sign into Square POS on their devices they can press the “Use a device code” button, enter their code and they will be able to make sales for you.
At the end of the day, go back and delete the device codes for security purposes.
How about that solution instead of QR codes?

I wish that would work, but there are a dozen artists that I do not know working at the gallery over 6 weeks, each with different pieces, prices, shipping, as well as technology abilities. So keeping track of 12 different device codes on 12 devices for 6 weeks is a real set-up for major problems in accountability and confusion. Even if I am the only one to do it, the training would be impossible.
Scanning a QR code in the Online Checkout that would automatically route the money to me seems like it would be the best option, but sounds like it's impossible too.
It is a private art gallery show. Artists take turns staffing the gallery and rotate shifts twice a day. There are no community funds or storefront to support more than a free Square on the individual artist's phone to take credit card information via phone call (if you are not watching the gallery that day).
Thanks for your help! I would consider it if it were only a couple of people that I know well.

Do what ChefChip said plus add a barcode that is set to the price for the sale. The person can type in the barcode number or scan it into square depending on their device. I believe Iphones can scan the barcodes but androids can not. You could also buy an Ipad for the store that your sales associate walks around with to scan and ring up the sales through your account with a device code. IPads built in camera can read barcodes into Square.
