new to square here but I can't figure out how to add a note to a charge.
In other words, I am charging a client $10 for lunch, then I need to choose the payment option, then swipe the card, and done. Unfortunately I need to be able to add a note before swipping their cards. the note can be as simple as their names, etc
how can I do that? this seems like a trivial feature
thank you

The easiest way to add a note to an order is by adding it to an item on the order.
Example, you ring up that sandwich. If you tap on the item in the "tape" you'll bring up a new screen. Scroll to the bottom of that new screen and there's a spot where you can type in notes. These notes will print on all printers and on the customer's receipt.
If you are using Saved Tickets and you use the notes section for the whole ticket, do know that section won't print anywhere.
Or, another option would be to enable Order Tickets if you have printers. Go to Settings -> Printers on the Point of Sale and choose your printer station. (If you don't have any printer stations set up check out this help file) Turn on the Order Tickets option, then make sure "Enter Custom Number of Name" is selected. Before you get to a screen to accept payment, you'll see a screen where you can enter the customer's name or a table number.
Hope this helps!

Is there a way to print order tickets but not have the enter name or number screen prompt before you take a payment? It will not let me disable this if I have the Print Order Tickets feature enabled....This is also a trivial feature, but that extra step really makes a time difference when we are really busy.
