How does a customer use their saved credit card?

I am wanting to figure out how does my customer use their own credit card on file? I want them to be able to use it themself. TIA

Hello @Bradshawflowers !

Are you talking online sales? If they have cookies/tracking enabled for your website, it should remember them (Square Pay) and autopopulate their cc and other data on checkout. There isn't much we can do if they don't have tracking enabled.

For in-store, its easiest for you to add their name to the sale. When you go to cash them out, look for the Card On File tender type. Their card will be listed there.

Thank you for your reply! So here’s the thing I sent an invoice and the customer wants to use card on file and I would like for them too so they may leave a tip. She says she’s having to add all info again. Is there a way for her to not have to keep adding the card- it is already on file. Thanks!

I just replied to thread below. Thank you for your help. Still confused on why she is not seeing her saved card.

Hey @Bradshawflowers

Sorry for the delay! Christmas kept me busy!

Yeah, that is the one flaw with Card on File. To use CoF, you as the merchant have to tell Square that you want to use it. This isn't something that is accessible for the customer. This means that unless they tell you a tip amount (and even then I'm not sure there's a way for us to enter it), they have to enter their card info each time. If you're ok without the tip then you can run the Card on File when it's time to run an invoice.

This is a major flaw, I’m

afraid in a biz where tipping is a factor and no one wants to ask for a tip!! Please please bubble this up!! Thank you!!
