The title of this post has been edited from the original: square appointments
I am reading a lot on Square Appointments about how you can set it up for haircuts, nails, etc.
I am a photographer and want to set up 1 day events with certain times for that one day. I did it once a couple of years ago for a New Years Eve dance but I I haven't done it in a long time and it looks as it has changed since then.

Welcome back to Square and welcome to the Seller Community! 🎉
This is definitely doable with Square Appointments - you'll start by heading to your Calendar.
Once you're here, use the date selector to locate the week you'll be holding your event:
Once you've selected the week you would like your event to take place during, click the Edit Availability button in the top right-hand corner of your Square Dashboard to open up your editing pop-up:
By default, the pop-up will be set to make a one-time change - this is what you want, otherwise the changes will apply to every week:
Feel free to add multiple time blocks for the one day, as shown above.
If you prefer to make this change in-app, you can do that as well!
Select the Calendar tab > three dots in corner > select Make a one-time change under the Booking Availability section
Select your dates here using the calendar that will appear when you click the dates, and begin adjusting times ✨

I am setting up a Headshot mini session special and would like to know how I can have someone book their appointment online for that service for only a specific date and time? For example, I offer a session on 3 specific dates, May 13, 20, 27 from 4-7 PM in 30 minute intervals. If they select that specific service in my booking site, how do I only show that specific availability, and not ALL of my availability? And once they book their session, how can they pay once booked?

I've moved your post over to this thread where I provided some direction to someone looking to do something very similar to what you've described here, @photosbydan2016 📷🖼 I'm hoping this is helpful for you!
Another option would be to create multiple staff members or add start and end times in your staff hours profile.
In regards to payment, your clients would be able to pay while booking through your online booking site.

I host regular events at specific locations and need to restrict my appointments somehow. I'm opening up the range of time I'll be at the event, but at this point anyone can schedule any kind of service anywhere. I need them to only book for this event in this time frame. Help!
Example - I'm hosting a pop-up barber shop at a specific location and have openings at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00. I currently have those times open on my calendar, but I need any bookings to only be for this event. Help?

I want clients to be able to book their appoint for a certain location ONLY on the day I am shooting at that location. Right now when I go in acting like a client it will allow me to book on any of the dates not location specific dates. For example:
Nov 16-17 I am at Hidden Hills
Nov 10 I am at the beach
Nov 23 I am downtown.
Can you offer any insight please? Thank you!
